     Parent/Community Involvement

  • The Empowerment Academy believes that parent and community involvement are essential to our educational program.  In an effort to promote student achievement, The Empowerment Academy invites parents, guardians, caregivers, community residents, churches, businesses and civic groups to become actively involved within the school.

Philosophy

  • Mission Statement:  The Empowerment Academy is a school designed to develop character and meet the academics and cultural needs for students of the 21st century
     

School Demographics

  • The school presently services 214 African American students in grades Pre-K through Seven.  In the 07-08 School Year, the total school enrollment of 191 students included 101 female students and 90 male students, two of whom received special education services. The mobility rate for 2005-2006 was 3% not including the entering Pre-K class.  Student attendance for the 2005-2006 year was 95%.
