The Empowerment Academy, #262 is located in the western corridor of Baltimore city in a section referred to as the Panway/Braddish area by the Baltimore City Department of Planning.

The school is a BCPSS Charter School in partnership with The Empowerment Center Inc.  The school is located in the building formerly known as the Lafayette Elementary School.

The theme and focus of The Empowerment Academy is Literacy through the Arts.
